bluntly yes. Although I mean that to be a little bit more broad. Poverty limits people's potential to do what they want to be doing. The government's interest is ultimately in eradicating poverty, but taking kids away from their parents because they are on welfare doesn't do anything to actually deal with the question of why are these people on welfare in the first place? (in the sense of, here in the probably richest country on earth, why are 1/5 children still food insecure? What is causing that?)

No they don't. California has a large Republican population. Don't speak about what you know nothing about. Orange County and San Diego and parts of L.A. are very definitely Republican.
